Upgraded to Mac OS X Snow Leopard
My Macbook Pro is finally on Mac OS X 10.6.8! It feels great to be on Snow Leopard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_Snow_Leopard)
How I got the installation?
After getting some hints from the Tweet People, I finally decided to go to an iShop, and requested to purchase a Snow Leopard License (which is USD 29, around 900 Mauritian Rupees). I was then upgraded from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 and despite getting advice to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.7 (i.e Lion), I said ‘No Thank You, for the time being’. Any ways, now that I have access to Mac App store, I can purchase Mac OS X Lion and then do the installation. Also, my iLife has been upgraded to iLife 2011!
Honestly, I have no idea whether I should purchase a license costing around Rs. 3600 to upgrade my Mac Office 2008 to the latest version Mac Office 2011. There is only Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint in the Home & Student Edition. If you want Microsoft Outlook, the price is around Rs. 8000.
In brief, I spent a nice half-day at the iShop today, felt like home. I am definitely tempted to purchase some cool gadgets for my iPhone. There are Apple Fan guys who come in the shop, enjoy the Mac Products or purchase new stuff. The salesguys have a nice job selling Apple Products as they meet almost All types of customers who visit the iShop.
The last discussion before I leave the shop, was obviously ‘you know, contrary to Microsoft Windows………. ‘ 🙂
