The new Apple iPhone 4
In January, Steve Jobs announced the much awaited tablet- Apple iPad. Yesterday, at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco yesterday, the world saw the word’s thinnest smartphone: the iPhone 4. Apple’s new baby has new features and the renamed iPhone OS to iOS. (Makes me wonder about the proprietary name occupied by CISCO for operating on the operating system of its routers, Cisco IOS). Despite Gizmodo had purchased a leaked iphone from an Apple Engineer who had a nice beer, however, we got to discover lot of exciting new features during the keynote.
The new iPhone 4 – This changes everything, again
The main features of the next generation iPhone is amazing!
Below is a summary of the top 10 features than Jobs mentioned in the Keynote:

1. The Design
No 2: The Retina Display
3. New Hardware: Apple A4 Chip, Improved Battery
After iPad, the iPhone 4 becomes the device to use Apple’s A4 chip
4. New 5th sensor: Gyroscope
5. New Camera System in iPhone 4 and iMovie for iPhone
The noted ability of the camera for HD Video Recording and editing with iMovie
6. iOS 4
However Multitasking is not enabled in iPhone 3G with the iOS4.
Addition of Microsoft’s search engine: Bing. and Yes, Google remains the default search engine 🙂
7. iBooks comes to iPhone
8. iAds
For iPhone developers to earn money so they can continue to create free and low-cost apps for users.
9. FaceTime
Video Calling is now possible with Apple iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 over wi-fi
10. Price and availability
iPhone 4 comes in two colors, black and white — price is $199 in the US for the 16GB model, and 299 for the 32GB model. The iPhone 3Gs at $99. The iphone 3G is gone!

Now that your Iphone 3G has lose value and has come to $99, would you afford to sell it at this price,i.e around Rs3500??????????? It seems so cheap to me,lol.

ahh yeah, about the selling price…
I don’t think Orange Mauritius is making an offer of Rs. 3500 for a brand new iPhone 3GS….
However their offer will be modified and put on promotion (we shall observe that in the future) in order to sell the stock of current 3GS. (liquidation)
and i can’t afford to sell it at this price, give me a crazy award if i do this… 😀

haha. Yeah to some extent you are right, but I think your decision is a short term decision….everything that is ‘technology’ its price drops rapidly. It will not just depend on Orange Mauritius, many genuine 3Gs are sold not through Orange also, just wait for some weeks you may see someone selling a new one at around Rs5000.
Well, i think its the time to find someone and sell it at a price you want now because the more you will wait, the more you will regret!!lol

Maybe, after the iPhone 4 is out in M’tius, will try to purchase it (if there’s good fortune , of course) and give the iPhone 3GS to relative to use or buy…. 😉

Yes, of course, here in Mauritius, the price will be much higher unfortunately..
Maybe it might be around Rs. 38, 000 pre-pay.
and about the data plans…. no idea. 3G connection or Edge is slow in iPhone, am not totally satisfied with the speed on the cellular data network. I don’t know if abroad, other carriers like Verizon, Vodafone, Orange France offer much better satisfaction?!??

You can buy it in an electronic shop found on the 3rd floor of Happy World House PL(dnt remember the name of the shop) but the phone is jailbroken unlocked,not factory unlocked…Thus any botched attempt to update ur phone may brick it…Only orange supply reliable iphone but i dnt know if they sell it factory unlocked if it’s on prepay…
If u have family in canada,singapore,hong kong or dubai or u r goin there,u can get ur factory unlocked iphone 3gs at around Rs 16000-17000…
